The LECHUZA potting soil
watering system
A plant mainly needs three things to grow and thrive: enough light, nutrient-rich soil and, of course, water. We show you how easy plant care can be!
Following the example of nature
Watering plants is sometimes not so easy at all: if too little water is given, the plant dries out. If too much water is given, stagnant water is the danger. That's why we have developed an intelligent watering system that allows the plant to take in as much water as it needs at any one time - just like in nature.
Simple, efficient and unique!
Our intelligent watering system simulates a natural environment for the plant: our LECHUZA-PON plant substrate enhances plant root growth and supplies important nutrients. It further regulates the water supply to the roots, allowing the plant to absorb the desired amount of water at all times without stagnant water.
Lush plant life!
Even without a green thumb, you can enjoy lots of green leaves and colourful flowers thanks to our nature-like watering system. After repotting, you only need to make sure there is always enough water in the reservoir.
Cast once, enjoy your freedom!
The water reservoir of our watering system can be filled from outside very easily. With the water meter, you can always see how much water the plant still has. And if the reservoir is only just full, you can sit back and relax or even go on holiday - your plants will water themselves, just like in nature.
How the irrigation system works
Classic system
The plant is planted with LECHUZA-PON in the indoor container or directly in the pot. After the watering phase, the plant itself absorbs water from the reservoir.
- Planting
Pour the supplied LECHUZA-PON granulate onto the parting soil. Place the plant and fill the planter box with LECHUZAPON or soil. - Casting phase
For the next 12 weeks, still water the plant from above in the usual way. Once the plant has grown to the humid area, it can take up water on its own from the water reservoir. - Casting phase and dry phase
After the top-up phase, fill the water reservoir via the water filler shaft until the water meter reaches ‘max.’ every time you want to water the plant. From now on, your plant will take care of itself thanks to LECHUZA. When the water meter shows ‘min.’, the dry phase that lasts 2-10 days* begins for the plant. After each dry phase, refill the water reservoir via the water filler shaft to ‘max’.
Water level indicator: Keeping an overview
Thanks to the water meter you always know whether to water your plants or not. Only when the meter reaches „min.“ stands, you may water the plants again. Does your plant prefer to be slightly drier? Then wait a few days before filling the reservoir again. You fill the reservoir very easily with water or fertiliser via the water filling shaft.
Bottom screw: handy for outdoors
For outdoors, turn just take out the bottom screw. An overflow ensures that enough water remains in the water tank. Excess water flows over the overflow and can drain away. So your plant protected from standing water even in rain.
Optimally cared for with the small planters
Cradle system: repotting not necessary!
Quick and easy: small plants can be placed in the planter with the nursery pot thanks to the wick.
- Keep the growing pot and wick within easy reach.
- Insert the stick into the Growpot from below.
- Put the growing pot in the planter. Water and enjoy.
Feeding system - perfect for smaller plants
For plants with shorter roots that do not reach into the water reservoir, containers with an open plant insert with supply are suitable. Water and nutrients stored in LECHUZA-PON reach the roots through capillary action and receive a balanced supply of nutrients. Thanks to the included plant substrate LECHUZA-PON, the All-in-One-Sets are ready to use.
